Unplug these scopes from the power socket when not in use, the power supplies on these models are notorious for burning up the main filter capacitor as they have 4 2W resistors right beneath the DC filter cap on the smps, over a period of time this cap dries out and the power supply goes up in smoke and costs over 1000 GBP. Good option is to replace the capacitor perodically say 2 years cycle.

Using a relay as fuse is novel, indeed. In the case your noise is perfectly random, you can average the readings over, say, ten measurements or so and get very good results.

i just received another unit zlx12p, no power as usual, all the resistor burned. Replaced the resistors, burned diodes, mosfet and the chip as well. Fired up, still no power, checked at rectifier and mosfet, 300+v present. Any idea what could be wrong? Thanking in advance.

Hi, John. Currently I'm experimenting onthe same si4703 board. My controller is NodeMCU. My problem is I can't break out of the SEEK or TUNE cycles. Datasheet says when tuned to a channel or seek finds a channel STC and/or SF/BL bits goes high. But they never goes high! Ive always wondered why they sound so underpowered , i have 2 ev zlx 12 p and 2 alto ts212, and they have always sounded underpowered compared to the altos. But with this new knowledge im willing to bet that the altos are also using the same scheme. Credit to EV they are much more reliable rhan the altos never had any issues, but I've had an undesirable experience with Alto they keep on breaking, they're on their 3rd pair of tweeters second pair of preamps and now going in for thier 3rd pair of preamps. The altos are never pushed hard they are only used for stage monitors Im not a fan of the EVs, i hate them even more, but i do agree with some of the comments, they really do sound nice.

I have Astra 1.7 cdti...had same case of oil level indicator turned on on low rpm after oil and oil filter change. After seeing this video I opened oil filter housing, only on this car it's a bit different. Didn' t find anything inside, although I would say that plastic central cage is partialy broken. Then I remembered that old filter didn't came off too easy, but new one came on with no pressure. At that time I didn't think it was important. But it is. I mounted back old filter and everything is fine now. Apparently it has to be tight so no air can come through, than it can build up the pressure. Gonna have to do some precision measuring before bying next new filter. Hope this helps someone.

Thanks a lot for this video. It is the only source I could find to fix my issue. Lost oil pressure after oil change and found the valve I did not know exiated with broken legs and dislodged so all oil was going down the drain. Now I am waiting for replacement part and running with the broken to plug the hole. My cam adjusters make slight knocking noise when hot. Could I have damaged them while starting the engine with no oil (at least 10 times).

In having similar problem. Cleaned the sump and strainer still giving a tapping sound once it warms up think I'll clean up the oil filter housing .new filter again and new oil .

I have been looking at your video now after having 2 of my v2 speakers go out on me, just found 1 problem om each amp just looking at it, was just going to ask for your opinion on them if thats okey? On the first one i have CapXon 100v 470uF blown, can not see anything ells thats broken on that one, the amp was smoking alot when this happend, should i be worried that somthing ells is broken in this case? Second one, i just noticed that C227 just right to the CapXon is blown, nothing ells. Great videos showing problems on amp to someone like me that just started looking at devices like this! Thank you for this. I had the same problem which took a month to find because one day the heating came on and another day it wouldn't. It seemed so random. Hot water always came on. I didn't find out what was happening until I turned the hot water off and the heating switched on! The valves looked OK. The boiler was serviced and it worked because hot water wasn't being demanded. It's one of those problems that can make you go bonkers. In the end, a two minute job to replace the st9400c and it all worked again! So annoying.....

Great video. Noticed your R32 looked a bit warm. I have just been looking at one of ours, we think repaired before, R32 had been replaced and burnt again. Was replaced, but the speaker failed after about 20mins on Friday night. Ex tv engineer, retired, so I get lost with these new psu's!

I got retrofit cruise control on my 207, year 2007. Everything went well at the work shop, until the program started to complain about temperatures being too high! Apparently you can't install cruise control if the motor temp is higher than 30 celsius. :D Even the mechanic was baffled and didn't know what to do and the installation failed, even when the motor cooled down. The program still complained about temperatures. Do you have any ideas what could be the issue? My dash just says "cruise control impossible." I don't find anyone online having similar problem...

Hello, i have a problem on my ELX118P because at 30% it makes sound cuts. I swapped the power supply and the pair of small amplifier modules with the ELX112P preamp card, I can go up to 100% of the power, so it's the ELX118P preamp card that is defective? Which component would do power limiting?

Took the panel off today and the 'cut around' tip you gave saved me drilling a rivet out. Managed to reattach the window to the clip. Many tha👍

HI I have the same subwoofer. It suddenly stopped working . so im guessing something to do with the fuse . I took it out it was bigger than normal fuses but now i cant find it. I have the code. but am also strugggling to find online or in shops. The fuse number I have is F63AL250V. Is this what you were using ? thanks

So the relay should switch when powering the sub on? I'm trying to repair one aswell and it doesnt do anything.

I just got one of these as well as a pair of 270 speakers as a gift. I thought the sub was supposed to power the speakers, but I guess I was wrong. The 360 unit works just fine and I'm able to get an audio signal from it, but the speakers are completely silent. Unless my cable connection is defective. Or does the sub not work as an amplifier for the speakers?

It appears that you didn't include an RCD snubber as recommended on page 20 of the datasheet when using the NA6252-AL transformer. Perhaps this is what caused the damage to the IC. I think it would have been nice if they made this information more obvious in their example designs.
